From where we started to where we have reached, the response has been massive.  I never knew blogging would spark such a keen interest in my life but the support that you all have given me <<3 As I promised, today's post is a special Q&A post where I answer your most requested questions :) Without further ado, let's get to it! I've always been a person who enjoys doing something out of the box. For me, being an Instagram influencer or youtuber never really "clicked". To be honest, I didn't even know google had it's own very well equipped blogging platform. I was bored during online school and decided to go the various products that google offered when I came acros

Self Esteem of Teens-Part II

Image
Hey everyone! In my last weeks post   I spoke about how the decline in Self-Esteem has become a rising factor among adolescents of this generations. It has existed for quite some time however, due to the increase in social media engagement, the graph has taken a hit. As I promised in last weeks blog post, today's post is going to be on some general  ways you can try implementing in your lifestyle to overcome low Self-esteem . So, without further ado, lets get to it :) You might feel that this is a very cliché advice that lots of people give- I did too🤷🏻‍♀️ Until I decided to give it a try. It may feel forceful at times-that's completely normal. When you feel that you're overthinking over something, FILL your brain with opposite thoughts.  Often number of times, teens have felt low due to something happening in real life or online and have blamed themselves for it. For example, someone sees a post online promoting unrealistic body types -they tend to self-scrutinize whi

Self-Esteem of Teens-Part I

Image
Hey everyone! Welcome back!! The Self Esteem of Teens Is it better than what it was 30 years ago? Or is it much much worse?  Self-Esteem is a very crucial matter that is extremely important, especially at this age.  Many teens, their teachers, their parents, and others suppose that during teenage, one's mental health is likely to decline. Adolescence may be described as a time of increasingly heightened self-scrutiny and significantly fluctuating self-esteem. But the solution isn't always completely clear, as self-esteem is a subjective state, and consequently very difficult to measure.  Self-esteem refers to how much a person likes (esteems) themselves.  Adolescents have various stages of self-esteem, which appears to be influenced by factors such as as gender, ethnicity, and social class. It also can range within an individual - every teen may also have different stages of self-esteem in different domains such as social, scholastics, athletics, appearance, and general behavi

Misdiagnosis and It's Repercussions

Image
Hey everyone! In last week's post I had published a small piece of poetry I had written. The main problem I intended to tackle was misdiagnosis of various mental disorders, how certain disorders are stereotyped to a large extent and what we see on the net is not always true.  As promised, today's post is based on what exactly misdiagnosis is-what leads to it and what are it's consequences.  Without further ado, let's get to it!  Misdiagnosis kya hota hai? It's definition is more or less self explanatory. It is basically the act of wrongly diagnosing yourself with a particular disorder or illness without consulting a doctor or a professional. One tends to decide what condition they suffer from on the basis of what they can grasp from the first few sites on the net. They tend to start medication themselves which as we all are aware of, is extremely dangerous.      Now that we answered that, it leads us to the next question: How does it arise? There are several facto

What's Causing So Much Anxiety in Students?

Image
Anxiety or the feeling of anxiousness has become a constant issue among students of this age. School can be rife with stress, disquietude and worry. Not just academically, even social situations and norms have caused a steep rise in anxiety among the youth. Keeping up with futile trends, having the perfect image, interpersonal issues as well as peer pressure has played a key role in the up rise of this mental health illness.  So then the question arises, "If this is that common, where do we even know where this originates from?" The answer is simple-everywhere. The environment the youth is exposed to has multiple repercussions-one of which include anxiety. It can come from something that is happening in school, something that is happening online or even something at home. These three places are the most places where an adolescent spends 90% of time in; and that is where this can arise.  For most cases, one sees the first signs of anxiety are seen between the ages of kindergar

Unique Types Of Therapy Techniques

Image
Therapy.  Therapy, also referred to as psychotherapy or counselling, is the process of meeting with a therapist to solve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and/or somatic responses. Beginning therapy may be a massive step towards being the healthiest version of yourself and residing in  the best life possible—irrespective of what challenges you may be facing. You may have seen a couple of posts regarding this on my pages earlier(if not, don't worry! I'll drop off the links at the end of this post where you can check them out). In most of them, I spoke about how going to therapy must be normalized and how we should be more open to exploring ourselves through therapy and not treat them as a taboo. One thing I incurred from most of the post responses was that there are still a lot of people who think that therapy is still the 'sit on a couch-blabber about your problems to a stranger' thing. Well even though it partly is, it is not completely lim

Social Anxiety-What exactly is it?

Image
Hey! Welcome back everyone! Social Anxiety. A lot of us are more or less familiar with this term. We've heard it at school, we've heard it at parties-however, a lot of us have often used this as an interchangeable term with "shyness". I saw this getting very common hence thought, why not help clear out some confusions we have about this topic? First thing first, What is "Social Anxiety"? We all recognize the sensation of being frightened or uncomfortable in a social situation. Maybe you’ve clammed up when meeting a new person  or gotten sweaty hands before presenting a big presentation. Public speaking or walking right into a roomful of strangers isn’t very exciting for anybody, however most people can get through it easily-unlike the case in people having Social Anxiety. Social anxiety disorder, sometimes also known social phobia, is an type of anxiety disorder that causes extreme fear and fright in social situations.  People suffering from it tend to have

Insomnia

Image
Hey everyone!  Welcome back to a fresh new month!  Today's post is a highly highly requested one by you guys so the wait is finally over! Sleepless nights or sleeping through the day is something that quite a few of us have experienced in our lives. Whether it was because you were stressed or excited-who knows🤷🏻‍♀️ The reasons are endless. However, once this starts becoming a daily habit without noticing, these are some signs that might point towards Insomnia. Starting off,  What exactly is "Insomnia"? In technical terms,   Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which you have trouble falling and/or staying asleep. Self-explanatory through most of it but not completely.  Insomnia is a common sleep disorder which could make it difficult to fall asleep, tough to stay asleep, or cause you to wake up too early and not be able to get back to sleep. You may still feel worn-out while you're awake. Insomnia can drain not only your strength and mood but simultaneously your health,

Why are younger siblings so annoying?

Image
Hey y'all! A lot of us reading this post are either a single child or a younger or an older child(duh, obviously).  If you're an older sibling reading this, trust me you'll love it; but if you're a younger one, sorry but this is going to be calling out all your very annoying antics that you don't get scolded for and seem to get away with -_- If you're neither, enjoy me ranting about how annoying younger siblings can get :) I am an older sibling with an age difference of 5 years with my sister and trust me when I say, no matter what the age gap is, the younger siblings are always very galling. Right from kicking you off the bed when you're asleep to singing creepy songs in the middle of the night to blackmailing you with the smallest things ever-they've done it all; and most times don't even regret and apologise for it. Just a few of the annoying things my younger sister has done includes stealing my clothes, coming into my room while I was in a clas
