Self Esteem of Teens-Part II

 Hey everyone!

In my last weeks post I spoke about how the decline in Self-Esteem has become a rising factor among adolescents of this generations. It has existed for quite some time however, due to the increase in social media engagement, the graph has taken a hit.

As I promised in last weeks blog post, today's post is going to be on some general  ways you can try implementing in your lifestyle to overcome low Self-esteem.

So, without further ado, lets get to it :)

You might feel that this is a very cliché advice that lots of people give- I did too🤷🏻‍♀️ Until I decided to give it a try. It may feel forceful at times-that's completely normal. When you feel that you're overthinking over something, FILL your brain with opposite thoughts.
Often number of times, teens have felt low due to something happening in real life or online and have blamed themselves for it. For example, someone sees a post online promoting unrealistic body types-they tend to self-scrutinize which leads to its own set of repercussions-the main one being drop in their self-esteem. To overcome this, even if forcefully, talk yourself out of it.
Don't endorse in Toxic Positive Self Talk though, that is not good either.

Don't forget to check out my poem on Self Talk and post on Negative Self Talk!

Being a person whose themselves gone various periods of fluctuating Self-Esteem, I can confidently say this method is 100% effective. For me, starting my blog has helped me tremendously as it was a completely fresh venture and gave me a lot to learn about. And since this wasn't a very common thing or a "trend", I felt that, whatever you do, you won't be criticised for "not being like others".

Trying new activities, discovering hidden talents, and challenging themselves can help grow teens’ confidence. Though many teens are afraid of failure and don’t want to embarrass themselves, it's important to know that it's a learning experience.  You can be different. Trying something out of the box really does help overcome this immense pressure. I would definitely exhort this to you.

It's a common response to be hard on yourself on failing. But, if you can shift your thinking to understand that failure is an opportunity to learn, that it plays a necessary role in learning and growth, it can help you keep perspective. Remember too that failure means you're making an effort.

That was it for today's post. Hope y'all enjoyed it! It was a highly requested one by you guys so hope I could help :)

Don't forget to share and drop your coping methods in the comments below!!
