Tests and Exams

Hey! Welcome back!!

So, this is related to an incident that I recently went through and for some reason it just affected me more than it actually should.
I had my first tuition test a few weeks ago and ended up scoring sorta low because of dumb mistakes. Sometimes you know the answer, yet you end up writing the wrong one. I'm not kidding. I wrote wrong answers even though I knew the correct one's because I was stressed about the test. There was a question where the correct answer was Volume but I ended up writing DENSITY! It really bummed me out because I had really prepared for this test and lost it due to frivolous mistakes.

It took my best friend around 3 days to get me out of my melancholic mood and accept the fact that it's okay to make mistakes. He gave me this really long pep talk on how I should focus on my next test instead of worrying about whats in the past. And that's what really opened my eyes. I was sad because of something in the past whereas I could be so much more focused of whats in the future!

I decided to share some of my key take away's from his "speech" because this kind of a thing is really common and many at times people don't know how to deal with it.

1. SHARE
- You need to share whatever you're feeling to a person. Doesn't matter what it is. Vent it out! They can help you and cheer you up and help you move on from what happened.
2. CRY IT OUT
-If you've prepared really well and the outcome doesn't match your expectations, it's okay! Mistakes are human. And so is crying. It works if you can't put how sad you are into words and don't feel like speaking to anyone.
3. STOP MAKING SILLY MISTAKES!
- If you're like me, chances are, you make a gazillion of silly mistakes :) I till date haven't gotten better advice than REVISION. Revise with attention and imagine you're writing the paper again. You will find mistakes which you'll be able to rectify only if you revise.
4. HUSTLE
-Learn your mistakes, Work on it and Make sure you don't repeat it!
5. HAVE CONFIDENCE
-It's okay to score bad once in a while but you need to have enough confidence to climb back up. Be sad for a day but then MOVE ON. You'll do better next time and failure works as a great competition. Have the confidence to beat your past and always strive to be better.

Everyone has ups and downs but it's important to get back up and keep running. Watch motivational movies, watch things that would inspire you to get back on your feet.

Trust me, I took this advice and it actually worked because I ended up scoring a 100 times better than my OG score.
