My Love For Bollywood

Bollywood has always played an integral part in shaping up my personality. Right from childhood to teenage, I have always been, what some might say, a "Bollywood Baccha". On the occasion of month 10 of #faltufriday I decided, why not write about my VERY big obsession with Bollywood movies :)

I was about 4 months old when I heard my first Bollywood song and have been more is less infuriated with🤷🏻‍♀️ My all time favourite movie, throughout my childhood and teenage has definitely got to be "Om Shaanti Om" and songs from "Rang de Basanti". Every time someone would play a song from either of these films(at times even others), you could always see 6 month old me just sitting and grooving with joy :)

Anyways, over time this gradually faded out. From the ages of 5-12 I really staged started getting into English Pop Music which then saw its downfall in my music taste graph chart by the time I turned 13.

A close relative of mine was getting married and I was to perform at their sangeet. So, in most Indian weddings usually people dance on Bollywood songs, which is why I too started going deep diving into my music feed to find the perfect song to perform on. During the course of doing so, I came across a number of lost gems of the mid-bollywod era. These were basically song from the years 2000-2015.

And that's where the trouble began. Slowly slowly I started getting more inclined towards different songs and movies from the mid-bolly era. 4 years in, 90% of my playlist is full of Bollywood songs-to the point that it has become annoying(for my sister :P )

My sister has the complete opposite music and movie taste to me so it's always a fight as to who gets to play the songs in the car or whose movie we watch at movie nights. I always win though (elder sibling things :P )

My personal choice of movies and songs are mostly from 2005-2015-not really of the ones before and after that except for a few. My top 5 favourite movies which you would see me recommending to every person ever would be:

  • Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
  • Om Shaanti Om
  • Jab We Met
  • Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
  • Hasee Toh Phasee
Anyways, these were my top movies; drop off yours in the comments below!
My crazy obsession with Bollywood still continues to annoy a lot of my friends as we have different tastes. I'm not very into Bollywood industry news, just the movies and songs :)

That was it for today! Don't forget to drop off your favourite movies and songs in the comments and share and subscribe for more! Thank you all so so much for such a successful month :) We crossed over 4000 subscribers!!

Signing off,
Kuhu :)
