What's So Weird About This?

 Hey everyone and Welcome back!

With the growing rate of mental issues among the youth, seeking help to combat the same has become the need of the hour.

Today's post is going to be a "revamp", of my previously authored post(Read here!) focussing more on why more than how.

Happy reading!

Going to Therapy.

Society has unnecessarily made this a very "hush-hush" topic; and I fail to see the reason why.

What's wrong about wanting to seek help?

Mental issues aren't as easily visible or diagnosable as compared to a physical ailment.

Let me explain with the help of an example:

You fall sick. You get fever.
You know that these are the symptoms of a fever and take some meds and get better soon. If after a while the symptoms don't subside, you go to a doctor to check if it's something else.

It's the same with the brain involved.

You may feel sad or angry or any emotion for that matter. You'll try to get yourself through it with whatever techniques you know.
But when matters get serious, you should visit a therapist to know why.

Our brain is super complex.
You might think something is the cause but it might be a whole other thing in reality.

This is where going to therapy helps.
The therapist is trained, has studied, and is qualified to help you understand what you are going through.

The logic is simple.

You feel physically unwell, you go to a doctor specialising in that area.
You feel mentally unwell, you visit a doctor for the same.

We might never understand the roots of the stigma - from where and why it originated.
But as the future generations, let's cleanse our minds of the thought that going to therapy is bad and encourage people to go for therapy.

It helps.

That was it for today! Hope you all enjoyed reading it. Don't forget to share and comment for more content, every Friday <3

Signing off,

Kuhu :)
