Next Stop: Graduation. Ft. Senioritis.

 I'm officially an adult.

And I'm going to formally experience "life" now.
It's going to be tough. I know that.

But the only thing that keeps me confident enough to face that fact is that I will never EVER relieve my senior year of High School again.

If I could survive 12th grade, I can - hopefully - survive what the future holds for me.

So, to officially start the post:
School can be rife with stress. Every waking moment is spent either in front of a textbook, in class, doing an extracurricular or editing the millionth attempt of your Common App essay (if you're an International aspirant.)
And when you're in a constant loop of the same, fatigue is but natural to catch up to you.

This is what my - as well as most of yours' - senior year looked like:
Last exam of 11th grade - a movie out with friends - AP's and SAT - Internships - Common App Essay - Extra-curriculars - Barbieheimer - First Semester Exams - Early apps - Durga Puja - Pre-boards - Regular apps - 30 million essays - TOEFL - "Vacation" - Board prep - ED Acceptance - Boards - The End?

To describe the 22nd of March 2024 - the day after my board exams ended - seems virtually impossible.
After more than four years of constant grind, for the first time, I had absolutely nothing on my mind.
To be more specific, no deadline.

And for over a week, I did absolutely nothing.
Truth be said:
(a) it was SUPER boring
(b) I had forgotten what it meant to be bored.

Which made me realise how severely burnt out I was. And it's not just me.
It's been drilled into our heads that we always need to have something or the other going on that when in a moment, it all just comes to an end, you're simply not able to comprehend the situation and think about your next move. It's ingrained that every second of the day must be spent doing SOMETHING.
What that "something" is? No one knows! But it's something.

If you're someone who just got done with 12th and feel so fatigued that you can barely move a limb, welcome to the Senioritis club!

You may choose either a 3-day, 3-week, or 3-month plan, depending on the number of close-call burnout cycles you have felt through the year and how you may have sailed through them.
It's only a temporary subscription; you're going to end up pursuing a productive activity afterwards!

But on a more serious note,
To my juniors(and my junior self): You are going to have a heck of a journey in the last year of high school. It's going to suck, it's going to be extremely stressful but you're going to get through it and you will experience a sense of lassitude at the end. It's normal. It happens.

To my batchmates and seniors: Please share tips on how to overcome Senioritis so that a year from now I can write a blog about it!

Anywhoo!
This was a rather eccentric style of blog as compared to my previous ones - not experimenting, but I've not blogged in a while so let's see where my skills lie and go on.
If you enjoyed this post, please don't forget to share and follow!

Signing off,

Kuhu :)
