(Not the one in our history textbook but in chemistry!) Hey everyone and welcome back! I've been studying Chemistry since 7th grade and every year, we have mostly the same chapters but just a more complex version of it.  This blog post idea   clicked me in the middle of my chemistry class in 11th grade and I thought it would be the perfect analogy to explain a concept relating to our Mental Health - Opinions. Without further ado, Let's get to it!

Heat and (Mental) Health

Image
" They have a link?!" This was my first thought when I came across this 'weird' but true correlation.  We've all heard (and probably experienced) the physical effects of heat waves.  Today, I'll be elaborating on the Mental Health side of it! Without further ado, let's get to it. `Temperatures in India can rise up to anywhere between 40 - 50 degrees Celsius during the summer season. This leads to extreme agitation among residents and can lead to extreme levels of various emotions, the most common one being anger. This anger leads to stress . Other effects include heatstroke, lethargy, and dehydration. Another impact of the same is that it may lead to hospitalizations which further adds to mental stress alongside a financial burden.  Heat waves cause extreme temperatures an can impair a person's cognitive abilities, increase the gravity of an already existing aggressive behavior, or influence people to do or say stuff they normally wouldn't.  Hello everyone! Welcome backzo <3 I'm sure we've all heard of the term "gaslighting" or watched several cases of this in movies. A term which has recently gained popularity, Gaslighting can be defined as  " Manipulating someone so as to make them question their own reality." There is also a derivative of this term, titled, Self Gaslighting, which is similar to the above definition, except you're doing it to yourself.   It's sort of like the voice in your head   becomes your own tormentor. In today's post, I'm gonna talk about What Self-Gaslighting looks like , and in next week's post, how to deal with the same. Without further ado,  Let's get to it! "I'm being oversensitive" "I didn’t experience 'real' trauma." "They didn't mean that" Something that all 3 of these statements have in common is that it minimizes your own feelings and spirals you into constantly doubting and blaming yours

Embarrassing Moments in School

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back <3 We've all at some point been through epically hilarious and embarrassing moments at school.  Many at times, the situation may have landed us in trouble and also led to a great amount of overthinking , but nevertheless, we've got ourselves out of it pretty soon.  I recently went through a very embarrassing situation at school (haha I'm not disclosing what happened), and the way I handled the situation led to a ✨moment of past reflection✨ Back when I was in 7th grade, I used to freak out whenever I went through anything  that would involve me coming under the limelight - I'm talking profuse sweating and a burning sensation in the throat freak out.  Now, in 11th Grade, when I went through (what I went through at school), I didn't have this feeling for the first time. Instead, I laughed it off.  And that's when it hit me - laughing it off was the best solution. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that we should laugh
