Heyy! Welcome back to month 6 (OMG 6?!) of #faltufriday where I talk about something totally random. Aaj ka post is based on my passion for photography and how I relish performing it. Now I'm not the kind of person who understands literature and 'hidden meaning' inside pictures blah blah; like I can never do that kinda stuff :P  I really enjoy nature photography; mainly of water bodies and trees. Here are few of my favourite clicks and the stories behind why I love them. Number 1:  Bruadarach  I am personally very fond of this click because it shows the real beauty of nature. There's zero filters applied on this picture and the image just gives out calm vibes to me.  It exhibits a very serene and quite atmosphere and the serendipity of the colours in the sky is just exhilarating. I took this picture a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessed ever since. I love it because this scene was there for just a second I knew that I needed to take THE shot and I did. Most of...

FOMO

Image
A couple of days ago, I asked you all on my social media accounts on what you thought having FOMO is like and I was really shocked with the responses I got. Some of you gave direct facts that made sense and there were some which did not so much. Here were a few of your responses: To comprehend, fear of missing out is a social tension stemmed from the perception that others are probably having amusing even as the individual experiencing the tension isn't present. It is characterised with the aid of using a preference to live constantly related to what others are doing. FOMO is likewise described as a worry of regret, which can also additionally cause issues that one may omit a possibility for social interaction, a singular enjoy or a worthwhile investment. It is the concern that identifying now no longer to take part is the wrong choice. What are its negative impacts on our Mental Health? It seems likely that too much FOMO harms your mental health. Social networking creates many p...

Dance Movement Therapy

Image
All living beings have motion embedded in their bodies, even those who accept as true what they can’t, can! Often, matters that the thoughts won't be conscious of, the frame knows. Our bodies are just like the maps of our recollections and stories of our lives. One manner to tour through those will be connecting with the frame through Dance Movement Therapy. Our actions communicate louder than words. It facilitates us to speak the intangible and construct greater recognition with bodily and intellectual launch of the facts that have been saved within the frame over the years. What is Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)? Traditionally, therapy is associated with an image of an individual sitting on the couch and talking for long hours over sessions and sessions. DMT tends to be a different form of therapy. It is the psychotherapeutic use of movement as a process which furthers the emotional, cognitive and physical integration of the individual.  DMT would have the individual express themse...

Stop👏The👏Stigma👏

Image
Okay, I cannot begin to explain how long the stigma around mental illness has stuck around and how freaking annoying it is.  Very few people genuinely want to take this topic seriously and that's why it is neglected so much.  Yes, social media has played a great role in educating others on this topic but there are still a lot of people who refuse to believe something like this exists and it is as important as physical health. What a lot of people don't understand is that this thing can stick around for a longer time than most physical problems and can be very harmful in the long run; which is why I want to play my role to apprise people on why we should stop the stigma. First things first, What is a 'Mental Illness'  In a nutshell, it could be described as conditions that affect your thinking, feeling, mood severely. These conditions deeply impact day-to-day living and may also affect the ability to relate to others adversely.  There isn't just 'one' mental ...

Surviving an Anxiety Attack-Part I

Image
AAA Happy New Year Everyone!! This is my first post for the year and I wanted it to be something personal so here we go :) Anxiety Attacks are pretty common amongst people suffering from an Anxiety Disorder. I know this because I am one suffering from it and tbh, its really not easy on us when they start acting up. We go through so many excessive, random, worrying thoughts which a lot times we aren't able to cope up with at that moment.  I mean for the longest time I didn't even know I had it and would just find excuses and methods to come out the weird feeling which somehow helped me a lot. Which is why, I wanted to share my tips and tricks on how you can fight or overcome an upcoming anxiety attack when you don't have someone present around you (physically). So, lets get to it :) I initially heard of this method in a T.V. show I was binging where the character too had an Anxiety Disorder. I know it might sound kinda dumb but I decided to give this method a try after they ...

T.V. Show Recommendations

Image
Ok first things first, wishing y'all a very Merry Christmas. Welcome back to month 5 of #faltufriday where I talk about something totally random.  I took your suggestions and lot of ya'll wanted to know my top 5 show recommendations so here we go :) Number 5: The Good Place I've personally been really fond of this show since last year because its so different from the others. The entire concept and characters of the story is just incredible. T he first season follows Eleanor Shellstrop , a lady invited after her demise to "the Good Place", a profoundly particular Heaven-like perfect world planned and run by eternity "draftsman" Michael as a compensation for her upright life. The Good Place is where the individuals who have been acceptable for the duration of their lives go whenever they have died. At the point when Eleanor shows up at the Good Place, she understands she has been confused with another person, and looks for help from another companion to...

Stop "Glorifying" OCD

Image
It's not what we often mistake for it to be. Its not just another term for "organized".  Obsessive and compulsive traits on their own are not a mental illness — we all have things that perhaps we obsess over. But for a person with OCD they can’t just “snap out of it.” .The brain of a person with OCD actually functions differently, essentially getting “stuck” on a thought. These thoughts are linked with intense anxiety driving the individual with OCD to engage in compulsive behaviour which is their only escape. The way OCD is portrayed is the worst. What exactly is "OCD"? Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder that influences human beings of every age and walks of life, and takes place when someone gets stuck in a cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that cause intensely distressing feelings. Compulsions are behaviours an individual engages in to try to get rid of the obsession...

Self Care Myths

Image
What is Self Care? The definition of 'Self Care' and what it is has often been misunderstood by a lot of people.  It is any activity you deliberately do in order to take care of your emotional and physical well-being.  It's not particularly taking a bath in a bathtub with candles and stuff and neither is it just binging Netflix all day long.   The term Self care has been a misconception which is why I've decided to debunk Top 5 Self Care Myths that have existed but make no sense. Believing that self-care is selfish is a relationally based myth that has roots in idolizing self-sacrifice over caretaking. The words “guilt” and “selfish”  are used synonymously when it comes to self-care. The reality is that we cannot be present for others or ourselves when we don’t take care of our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. To reframe, self-care is really not 100% about you. It is about being able to attend to your needs so you can show up in the best way possib...

Self Doubt

Image
Lack of Self Confidence is something I have personally gone through(still do :P)  in my life and honestly it's as annoying as it sounds. We all go through it at some point or other, but that's not what I wanna talk about. I'm not gonna focus on the common timidity rather, on the condition where we tend to overthink our decisions to such a length, that it ends up harming our Mental Health . What if I mess up? I'll make a fool of myself? What will people say?  I'm just not smart enough, talented enough, capable enough, experienced enough? These thoughts often tend to cross our minds the second we take a decision. I am guilty as charged.  What is "Self Doubt"? The ideal definition- Self-doubt occurs when we lack confidence or feel incapable of doing things we need to do.  This we all know; which is the common condition.  This in fact is the reason on how it can grow and literally take over your mind.  It is the condition where we tend to hesitate o...

Maggi-An emotion

Image
Maggi.  Its not just a food item. Its an emotion. Welcome back to month four of #faltufriday where I talk about something totally random and aaj I'm gonna talk about my go to food for literally any situation. Its something I can have anytime, anywhere. And yeh milta bhi har jage hai. Whether its in the heat of Rajasthan or the freezing cold of Switzerland.  This is one standard food which is found in any part of the world and tastes the same everywhere. The variety of dishes you can make with this one simple food is beyond bounds. I, myself can make around 15 different Maggi dishes. And I'm open to more ok. I LOVE experimenting food. The saddest part has to be when it got banned for brief time in India. I vividly remember actually sobbing and looking at people selling the ₹10 packets for 100 bucks and people actually bought it! Nothing beats the feeling when they actually came back to the market and I finally got a packet.  Maggi is something that doesn't have a specific ...
