Mental Health during a Pandemic

  Heyy! Welcome back! I tried avoiding writing about this topic for a really long time mostly cause I didn't know how it felt to go through it until I had a conversation with my friend on this topic. We came across a post on social media based on this topic and how its affected innumerable number of people who are confined in their homes. Staying alone with your thoughts is itself a scary thing. But for over 7 months?! That is literally a devil's workshop. A lot of people weren't allowed to leave their homes for natural reasons. This has led a lot of people to overthink and has caused a lot of people's mental health to be scarred. Numerous types of anxieties and stress have developed over the course of these 7 months and  in some cases it has gotten serious. People have drifted apart whereas some have gotten really close. A Bad Day

  Heyy!! Welcome back!! We've all had our ups and downs. Whether it's a bad day at home or at school, there are some days which just aren't yours. Perhaps you woke up on the wrong side of the bed or got scolded for something or just felt lonely. Maybe you felt like Antonio from 'The Merchant Of Venice' who didn't know the reason for his melancholic mood.  You should know that's its completely fine and we all go through it very often. Nevertheless, the bigger question is how to overcome it. I have jotted down a few of my favourite ways on how I like to de-stress at the end of a bad day. My most preferred one is binging TV shows. I make myself a tub of popcorn and start binging 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S'. Its one of my favourite shows and it goes without saying how iconic it is. Sleeping

  Heyy! So one of my favourite pass time of all time. Sleeping. I'd doze off any time, anywhere regardless of what time it is.  Spectacles.  The most annoying thing right? I did a survey of around 15 people who have specs and literally every single person said that they are the most irritating thing on earth. I agree to this too.   Heyy! Welcome back! Today, I just wanted to throw some light on an important issue that's prevalent. I wanna talk about 'why' rather than 'what' it is.  Therapy. None of us wants to take this seriously. The one's who do, get bullied for it. The terms 'psycho' and 'mental' come to mind when you come across a person who goes to therapy. A lot of people don't even know what it is and assume it as something wrong whereas some don't even allow it and some refuse to believe that something like this exists. Why? Why is it wrong to seek professional help when you cannot deal with something yourself? Why is it so hard to accept the fact that someone is mentally disturbed and cannot open up to his peers? I'm not talking about adult therapy or child therapy here. I have come here to talk about teenage therapy and how it needs to be normalized in our society. Tests and Exams

Hey! Welcome back!! So, this is related to an incident that I recently went through and for some reason it just affected me more than it actually should.  I had my first tuition test a few weeks ago and ended up scoring sorta low because of dumb mistakes. Sometimes you know the answer, yet you end up writing the wrong one. I'm not kidding. I wrote wrong answers even though I knew the correct one's because I was stressed about the test. There was a question where the correct answer was Volume but I ended up writing DENSITY! It really bummed me out because I had really prepared for this test and lost it due to frivolous mistakes. It took my best friend around 3 days to get me out of my melancholic mood and accept the fact that it's okay to make mistakes. He gave me this really long pep talk on how I should focus on my next test instead of worrying about whats in the past. And that's what really opened my eyes. Teacher Cyber-bullying

  Something that has become prevalent now more than ever; a nother type of cyber-bullying, ‘teacher bullying’ is literally the act of teasing them online.   We all know that social media urges people to act impulsively online. A lot of people make accounts by their teachers’ name or post their pictures online or make ‘memes’ out of them. It might make you laugh or might feel relatable but you need to know when to draw the line. There are some which are simply offensive and cannot be tolerated at any cost. How can you stop? STOP POSTING VIDEOS OF THEM WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION! Stop posting their pictures on your story with weird filters and stuff because it's RUDE!    Probably show them SOME respect? I don’t think its so hard. They’re working on a platform completely new to them to teach YOU and they are trying their best. It is disappointing to see how we treat them after what they do to help us.   Try putting yourself in their shoes. They just want what’s best for us and it’s

Brace yourself

  Heyy, Welcome back!! So, what you might read today, might not necessarily apply to if you haven’t had braces but if you want to know about what the procedure is and how it works this is your place. I got braces in 7 th grade. Not gonna lie, it was weird. Well at-least for a few weeks. I was just starting school and 2 days before I had those super painful brackets put on my teeth. They added A-LOT of pressure on my teeth and I had to survive on ‘khichri’ for an entire week! No, no, I don’t mean to scare you here. It wasn’t THAT terrible. I had them for two years and to be frank, they were one of my best years. They really suited my face and once I had them off, I cannot emphasize this enough, I looked bad. I looked so bad for a few weeks without them but lucky for me, no one could see it because of my mask :) I didn’t have a lot of struggle with them. I could have all I wanted without even feeling it. The only thing I had to give up was having gum. Which wasn’t very easy for me given

I'm So Stressed

Heyy!! Welcome back! C’mon, we’ve all experienced this at least once in our life. Whether it’s for an exam or a competition, we’ve all had a nervous breakdown a day before or gotten that weird feeling in our gut, haven’t we? Well, trust me when I say that it's normal. It happens to a lot of people mostly because they’re anxious about the outcome. Some of you might also experience it if you come from a family or school that puts a lot of pressure on you. A lot of you guys might spend time worrying about the result rather than actually working hard and implementing it. I’ve seen a lot of people go through this kind of thing and have learned a lot of coping mechanisms too.  Some of my favourites would include-   Taking breaks: Don’t overexert yourself because you will lose focus over time and won’t be able to concentrate. Ultimately, you’ll end up forgetting the stuff you learnt which’ll build more stress.  Making notes: I started doing this ever since I was in 6th grade and trust me

Starting High School

  Heyy!  So, most of you are either in high school or nearing it. I started 9 th grade in June amidst a global pandemic! Of course, it hasn’t been easy but what made it worse was the great pressure that came. Schools closed down in march but if you’re an Indian reading this, chances are, your tuition's had started in mid-April.   I was completely overwhelmed with the entire process of the transition. Where we used to have hardly 3 chapters a subject for school now, we got 15 page long 8 chapters each term! To top it off, the 1 st term portion comes in the other terms too! Now I’m not trying to scare you but just want to share my experience on how I felt and how I overcame the overwhelming feeling. So initially, I had a hard time coping up with the stress. I had received terrible reviews from my seniors about 9 th grade. In early April I had received my books and naturally I was very excited to read and go through them. I was 3 pages into my physics textbook then it hit me. I WAS
